It allows you to focus on your end goal and take action – action which will inevitably lead you to your ultimate destination. Often an online marketer faces a ton of distraction which deters him from doing what needs to be done. You need to understand that repetition is the mother of skill – you just have to find something that works and stick to it, instead of jumping around and trying ‘the next big thing’.

Here are some motivation tips to keep you going:

1) Commit to daily personal development
Make it a point to read something everyday that will motivate and inspire you. This simple tip can have a great impact on your life and your business, as it changes your outlook in life and spurs you on to greater heights.

2) Have written goals placed in a visible location
Do you have clear defined goals with timelines? If not, get to doing one. A dream is a goal with a timeline – without a timeline, it is just a mere dream. Put some thought into this, and write down what you really want to achieve, why you want it, and how are you going to achieve it (the OPA method). Stick it somewhere that you can see everyday and review it regularly. You can include pictures of things you want to own, places you want to go, activities you want to do etc. Anything that will motivate you to work harder would do.

3) Find an accountability buddy
I read this concept from a mentor of mine, and it was called the “Inevitability Thinking”. People that have this sort of mindset, does things in a way that would make their success inevitable. For example, if I were an overweight male and my goal is to lose weight by running everyday, what I will do to request my friend to check in on me everyday. And for each time that I do not run, I will pay him a certain amount of money. This measure will ensure that it is more painful for me not to run and paying him the money, compared to just running daily. By doing this, my success (losing weight) is inevitable.

I hope these tips will help you out. Remember, make a conscious effort to motivate yourself daily, and your business will grow by leaps and bounds.

It is all about knowing your OPA – Outcome, Purpose and Action.

I was thinking about how this could be related to Internet Marketing in general, and I realized that this OPA model can be used in nearly ANY situation.

Outcome
Before you even thinks about making a living online, you needs to know your outcome, the ultimate goal, so that you will have something to work towards. If you don’t even know what your goal is, how will you measure your success? An example is that you could set a goal for yourself to earn $3,000/month by the end of Dec 09. Now that you know your Outcome, you need to ask yourself the next question.

Purpose
What is the REASON why you want to achieve your outcome? And it has to be specific – not vague stuff like “Because I want to make more money!” Everybody I know wants to make more money, but what are you going to do with that money? You have to know this, as it will motivate you to actually take the steps required to achieve it. If it is a new car you want, don’t be afraid to admit it. There is nothing wrong in always striving for material gain, but not at the expense of ethics and morals (of course). Your purpose should be something specific like “I want to earn $3,000/month by the end of Dec 09 so that I can have enough to pay for the bills and also invest $500/month into my children’s education trust fund.”

Only when your purpose is specific, than you have a real reason to go all out.

Action
Once you know your outcome and purpose, the next most obvious step is to know what actions is required to achieve them. However, I believe if you have a strong purpose and a well defined outcome, you will overcome any obstacles that come in your way. The WHY always come before the HOW.

When I started in Internet Marketing, I knew I wanted to generate a full-time living online as I wanted to provide for my family and I am sick and tired of being poor all my life. I didn’t know html, php, ftp, list building, SEO, PPC or anything about affiliate marketing at all. Over the years, I’ve read up plenty of resources and asked lots of questions to get to where I am today. Always remember that success comes only to those who take MASSIVE ACTION, and that success a matter of going from failure to failure without loss of enthusiasm.

With a compelling and attention grabbing headline, you will instantly draw the prospect into your copy to read further. Present them with a drab and boring headline, and immediately you lose their attention. It is therefore imperative that you spend a large portion of your time split testing for the best headlines possible.

2) Education

After fueling their interest, you have to provide something of value here. Often, free content works best, as it is easily distributed and cost you next to nothing. However, you really need to educate your prospects on the value of your offer, and what it could do for them, and why they need it and how they could use it.

Show your point with illustrations, facts, videos (if possible!) or whatever works for you. The thing here is to increase their awareness of their problem, for awareness is the most powerful state one can be in. 3) Desire

Do not outright insult them, but do not try to hide their problem as though it wasn’t there either! To an overweight women, you probably could say:

By doing so, you’ve just gone in an opposite direction as everybody else by emphasizing their problems, but yet you’ve aroused their interest as well. They will have a strong desire to hear what you have to say.

Being a Singaporean, I do know the creators of Presell Secrets X – Alvin Huang and Joel Chue. They are both pretty unknown Internet Marketers who prefer to fly under the radar and they make a decent living online.

However, having bought their stuff before, I know that their products are pretty top-notch. Unlike many rehashed products by bigger name gurus out there, Presell Secrets X provide some pretty good strategies that I found useful. Having gotten early bird access to their product, here is my review of it:

In a nutshell, it claims that PREselling is the key to receiving massive affiliate commissions. But what exactly is PREselling? It is defined as…

.. the conditioning of a potential customer in advance for later purchase of a product..

So as affiliates, what we have to do is simply 2 things:

1) Identify our potential customer, and…

2) Condition them to be ready to purchase our product/services when we offer it to them

The problem about marketing nowadays is, most people are trying to HARD-SELL, rather than PRE-SELL. There is a subtle difference between them, and that can be the difference between receiving tiny commissions and large affiliate cheques.

Presell Secrets X teaches you how to identify a potential customer using 5 basic questions. It also teaches you the power of ‘Persona Based Marketing’ and how to connect with prospects and customers to create trust and a feeling of association.

Think of it this way – which of these person would you buy a Dog Training Product from?

Person A: A self-professed dog expert specializing in all breeds of dogs, with 6 years of research materials to quote, or..

Person B: A 34 year old female dog lover who has accidentally discovered the secrets to making dogs obedient?

What Is Covered in Presell Secrets X?

Presell Secrets X is a relatively modest package consisting of 5 modules. These modules come in pdf and video format, along with some good bonuses. I particularly liked the PREsell templates that was provided, and I have been using them pretty extensively :)

Module 1 : Niche Research X

This module shows you the importance of finding sub-niches that are not as competitive. It is much easier to be an expert in ‘dog training for golden retrievers’ rather than an expert in ‘dog training’.

Module 2: Presell Mastery X

The meat of the content is contained here. It goes into detail to show how you can find out your customer demographics, their psychographics (needs, wants, desires), identifying your customer avatar, creating your own persona, and how you can use the power of STORYTELLING to sell your product.

Module 3: Post Presell Mastery X

After making the sale, you also have to ensure that your customers STAY HAPPY. If you over-hyped the product, or sold them a lousy product, there is a high chance that they would request for a refund, or never buy from you again. This module teaches you how to further optimize your sales page, improve your sales funnel, and various other methods of split testing to ensure that you get maximum revenue for your efforts.

Conclusion & My Bonus

I found Presell Secrets X a pretty good read, as it really delved into the reason WHY PEOPLE BUY. Once you understand human psychology, you will realize that they are really Predictably Irrational. (sidetrack: if you can, get this book ‘Predictably Irrational’ by Dan Ariely. It’s a superb read on why humans act the way they do, and it is a great insight to marketers looking to sell more stuff!)

I would say that this package is suitable for all level of affiliate marketers, no matter their level of experience. For the newer affiliates, it will help them to position themselves better in future sales promotion. The advanced marketer can learn from this as well and create personas to really connect with the prospects to increase their chances of making more sales.
